Without a doubt.. The judges in that fight later confessed to recieving a bribe... It was all fixed.

And, further proof that this forum is NOT the dumbest place on the net, check out some comments from some Koreans on youtube (for the behind the glory link)

It was close but Korean had a slight edge. Don't give the fight to Roy just cuz he was more flashy. Korean was more accurate with his shots.

I think the Korean deserved the decision

Nobody who watches any of this should ever question why Roy Jones refused to go overseas as a pro.

Roy Jones Jr. (USA) vs Park Si-Hun (South Korea)

1988 Summer Olympics Held in Seoul, South Korea

In a highly controversial 3-2 judge's decision, South Korean boxer Park Si-Hun defeated American Roy Jones, Jr., despite Jones pummeling Park for three rounds, landing 86 punches to Park's 32. Allegedly, Park himself apologized to Jones afterward. One judge shortly thereafter admitted the decision was a mistake, and all three judges voting against Jones were eventually suspended. The official IOC investigation concluding in 1997 found no wrongdoing, and the IOC still officially stands by the decision. A similarly controversial decision went against American Michael Carbajal. These incidents led Olympic organizers to establish a new scoring system for Olympic boxing.

The 1988 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXIV Olympiad, were an international multi-sport event celebrated in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. It was the second summer Olympic Games to be held in Asia and the first since 1964 when the Summer Games were held in Tokyo.

This is a great documentary.

This fight had a hole in Roy's life ever since. Guys wont understand but when a fighter gets robbed of any medal at the olympics, let alone the gold, its the most disturbing things boxers go through.

Getting robbed of a world title ent so bad because after a couple of fights you can get another title shot. It ent like that with the olympics, you gotta wait another 4 years!

Its like as an amateur, your waiting for the olympics. Thats your sole aim. I know because ive been in this position. You live and breath the olympics for around 4 years of your life, then something like this happens.

It was after the Roy Jones fight that points scoring got introduced in amateur boxing. Thats how bad the robbery was.
