  • A Response to Floyd Mayweathers "Natural Weight" Tread

Iv seen treads about people discssing what Floyds "natural weight" is, and i must say im stunned by what some people have come up with. The most ridiculous post I read said Floyd walks around at 190..nonsense..Bhop walks around at round 182, how in the hell would Floyd put on that weight without lookin flabby which he does not from the last clips and photos iv seen of him.

People on here are not using their brains..
Natural weight is what you walk around at normally when not in intensive training and dieting..Floyd was walking around not to far off 147 when he was still active. Probably guessing mid 150s judging by post fight photos. He was always in shape and rarely put on to much weight in between fights as he was constantly in the gym. Hence why Floyd never had trouble making weight except at the tail end of his 130lbs days when his frame was becoming to big to be a super father weight.
Other fighters at WW pile on the pounds after weigh in. Clottey in his fight against judah for example put on a stone or more between weigh in and the fight. Margarito does similar.

I believe Floyd could make 140lbs without to much problem. In my opinion he just believes he has he skills to be able to beat bigger fighters for bigger paydays at 147. While in my opinion he would beat Cotto, Mosley and Margarito(w/o plaster), I think he is cherry picking his fights to maximise income with minimum risk. But people who say he is only fighting smaller fighters are ignorant as his last to fights have been to DelaHoya who was at about 160lbs at fight night and Ricky Hatton who self confesses he aims to weigh 154 at fight night, making him heavier than Floyd on the night.

As a fan of boxing and Floyd I would love to see him fight Mosley and Cotto I see Mosley as the harder opponent due to his size and power. I believe he is making sure his reflexes are still there against an opponent lik Marquez who he knows is not a puncher, so would not pose to many problems at 147 for him,

    Feel free to ridicule me..

I don't think he's going to go to 140. People would argue a fight with both Pacman and JMM makes big money, but do you think Floyd would go down to 140 to fight them? No way. Floyd hasn't fought at 140 for several years and is walking around close to 157-160. He's already stated he won't fight under 147 which makes me believe even more that he may not be able to hack it at 140 anymore.

He fought Oscar and Hatton each at 154 and 147, but people wanna see him against the tops of 147 which since he moved to 147 he hasn't done. I got love for Floyd as a fighter, but c'mon dude...give us the fights we wanna see to silence the critics. The money is there.

Floyds walk around weight is 147-150...He said it.

He only moved up because the big money is ther with Oscar and Hatton.

Thats why he campaigned at WW.

floyd is NOT the best at 147, you got to beat the best to be the best, he refuses to do that.

if he goes down to 140 to beat pacman when fair enough he's a good fighter at 140, but if he makes pacquiao move up then it just solidifies his ***** status.

if he walks around at 147-150.

              cutting 7-10 lbs. is nothing.

floyd can fight at 140 no problem.

omg!! come on man - floyd walks around with very little fat in him and is in the gym constantly thats why his weight is quite low.

going down in weight is alot harder than going up

floyd knows dropping in weight to 140 will be bad for him.

if he wanted to fight at 140, he'd have just fought hatton at 140.
