    Floyd

Iv seen treads about people discssing what Floyds "natural weight" is, and i must say im stunned by what some people have come up with. The most ridiculous post I read said Floyd walks around at 190..nonsense..Bhop walks around at round 182, how in the hell would Floyd put on that weight without lookin flabby which he does not from the last clips and photos iv seen of him.

People on here are not using their brains..
Natural weight is what you walk around at normally when not in intensive training and dieting..Floyd was walking around not to far off 147 when he was still active. Probably guessing mid 150s judging by post fight photos. He was always in shape and rarely put on to much weight in between fights as he was constantly in the gym. Hence why Floyd never had trouble making weight except at the tail end of his 130lbs days when his frame was becoming to big to be a super father weight.
Other fighters at WW pile on the pounds after weigh in. Clottey in his fight against judah for example put on a stone or more between weigh in and the fight. Margarito does similar.

I believe Floyd could make 140lbs without to much problem. In my opinion he just believes he has he skills to be able to beat bigger fighters for bigger paydays at 147. While in my opinion he would beat Cotto, Mosley and Margarito(w/o plaster), I think he is cherry picking his fights to maximise income with minimum risk. But people who say he is only fighting smaller fighters are ignorant as his last to fights have been to DelaHoya who was at about 160lbs at fight night and Ricky Hatton who self confesses he aims to weigh 154 at fight night, making him heavier than Floyd on the night.

As a fan of boxing and Floyd I would love to see him fight Mosley and Cotto I see Mosley as the harder opponent due to his size and power. I believe he is making sure his reflexes are still there against an opponent lik Marquez who he knows is not a puncher, so would not pose to many problems at 147 for him,

    Feel free to ridicule me..

Travis..U cant honestly believe that Floyd walks around at 190lbs, which is over 13 and a half stone.Three stone or 43 lbs over his fighting weight.

agree with everything youve said mate, more or less exactly what i think.

i think mayweather has a good frame for going through the weights - once he he has stripped himself of the fat hes has a good sized frame, not much muscle mass, is quite thin but at the same time he can put on muscle mass quickly.

his body reminds me of SRL in that way, now SRL went all the way up to MW and even SMW but that doesn't mean that is his natural weight class and it definently wasn't his best weight class. i believe that SRL went up for the same reasons as youve highlighted for floyd - the big money fights. i believe that if SRL had continued to have a strong work ethic in the gym and had continued to make weight he would have never gone beyond 154.

floyd imo if he had kept the hunger and if bigger fights were available at 140 and few fights were at 147 then he would be fighting at 140 right now.

floyd just has that build that allows him to go through weight classes, someone like ricky hatton is a little bit different, hes more like hagler in that both can't really put on any more muscle mass without slowing themselves down.

            good post - green k.

I know, you know, the majority knows (but won't admit it) Floyd is/was better than Ali.. Never seen nothing like that pheonominum, & I'm am an "old bastard."
