Putin wasn't concerned over the interference of the "free-market" more so than being concerned over the regulation of private enterprise which would lead to an uncompetitive economy. And many governments haven't gone to the extent of giving as much money to their banks as the U.S. has. Not only have some of the banks taken advantage of the bail-out money by paying their executives higher bonuses, but there's never any accountability mainly for their lavish spending to begin with.

In the other discussion about the economy, you said that there are only "sprinkles" of socialism yet here you are NOW saying that there's a balance of both capitalism and socialism. Don't believe me? I'll even find that post and post it here for everyone to see. Stop flip-flopping and changing your response whenever you know you sound like an idiot.

The first thing you said when you came into my thread was an insult. You didn't even attempt to argue the thread topic you immediately insulted me without even explaining yourself. That's how I know you're pathetic and how you don't want anything to do with a real discussion.

Socialist ideals are a known recipe for failure. I dislike politics in general as I have said in other threads but I do believe in some governmental control on the state level only. The central government having too much control is a bad thing and will only lead to corruption (more so than exists already) as too much concentrated power is cancerous. Big business is to blame for this country's debt but it's the CEO's that are responsible for this crap and I believe Obama has some of these clowns working for him now. I thought that I read somewhere that one or more of his advisers or whatever were former CEO's of Fannie Mae or something; if this is true, this is very disconcerting.

It is a joke, the "war on drugs" that is. Over 90+% of all "drug users" solely use marijuana, the least lethal drug in the world- prescription pills (that can be regulated to generate revenue for the gov) can kill anyone who takes a few more pills than they are supposed to. If they legalized marijuana, people would just buy it at the store and the gov could tax it like anything else and save 400 billion dollars each year!

Just look at all of the pork programs and the special interest **** slipped into the bailout bill that will completely change how things are run in this country. Bush was involved in a few socialist leaning decisions but Obama is making it his goal IMO. We are now Canada and the principles that founded this country are being trampled on.

We've tried giving the states a lot of power, it didn't work out.

We can go on and on about the ties between federal government and big business, AIG even made huge contributions to Obama. This "holier than thou" idea that the liberal media has put into our heads is all a lie. The Dems are just as, if not more corrupt than the GOP. And why's that? The majority of big business, and big media for that matter, is ran by Democrats.
