  • Mayweather-Marquez Discussed For September In Vegas?!

Juan Manuel Marquez’s televised “callout” of retired Floyd Mayweather Jr. was not merely a distraction for the Mexican ringmaster’s real desire to land a third fight against archrival Manny Pacquiao.

Conversations were had and Marquez’s instruction to challenge Mayweather on HBO after his destruction of Juan Diaz came right from the top of the Golden Boy empire, from Oscar De La Hoya and his boss hog, Richard Schaefer.

******************.com has been informed by the usual inflamed sources that Pretty Boy Floyd is willing to come back for a September Mexican Independence Day Weekend bout in Las Vegas against Juan Ma.
“Golden Boy kept plugging away,” one man told me. “They want to keep a lock on the Cinco De Mayo and mid-September Mexican holidays in Vegas. Before they locked it in with Oscar but now Marquez steps into the good guy role against Mayweather. Schaefer got encouragement from Mayweather adviser Al Haymon because Floyd has itchy feet. Floyd wants to get back in the ring before this year is over.”

Besides the usual battle over money, a real sticking point could be what the contractual weight is as smaller man Marquez comes up to meet a solid welterweight in PBF.
What does this mean for Pacman? Well, assuming he thrashes Ricky Hatton on May 2, Megamanny can take another fight if he so chooses or simply sit back and, if Marquez-Mayweather comes to fruition, just look to fight the winner. Either way, it’s more gold for Manny.”

This fight is ****** because of the weight. Floyd isn't fighting at 140 and JMM isn't really a strong 135er.

Floyd would be too strong for him.

Yes and then we'll see a video of Mayweather saying he doesn't plan to return

Not a strong 135er? He already Koed two guys that have never been koed at 135 (Diaz and Casamayor). So obviously the power is there.

this fight can't happen till JMM pisses mayweather off. Like hatton, "the first 4 rounds of this fight would more exciting then mayweather's whole career." hehe.... that was awesome.

The gap in class is too much ....Floyd will UD this guy easy and I like JMM. This is like comparing a pond to an OCEAN.

Floyd should take this fight, beat his a$$ and then just relax because all roads in boxing lead to Mayweather.
