Easy-E's thoughts on December 6 HBO PPV

    1) Great preformance by Manny. He planned and executed the perfect gameplan. His speed and conditioning were something to behold. He had no fear, and was in his element in such a big event. He is a tough fighter to root against. A gutsy preformance for sure. His fluid combinations, boxing ability and elusiveness impressed me beyond belief. His straight left hand dominated the fight. Fantastic preformance, and much credit to Manny.

    2) Credit to Freddie Roach. For all the trash he talked, he was completly right and backed up what he said 100%. Great camp and great gameplan by Roach, he deserves alot of credit.

    3) I was so dissapointed with Oscar. I had a feeling he was in for a tougher fight than expected, but this was atrocious. He came for the paycheck. He sat in there, did not throw punches and let himself get beat up and embarassed more than anyone could have imagined. He could not throw the trigger and fought a cowardly fight. Call it quits.

    4) Nacho Berestien is a joke. The gameplan for the fight was pathetic. He had no ability to advise Oscar and tell him what type of adjustments needed to be made. His only advice was "throw the jab," "work the jab" and "throw to the body and then the head." It was discraceful to watch.
I dont want to point fingers without giving legit answers, so if I were Berestien, here is what I would have told Oscar between rounds:

"Hold you hands up and cover up on the outside.
Slip the straight left hand and throw left hooks to the body and head while keeping your right hand up.
Tie Manny up on the inside. Bully him and use your size and stregnth advantage.
Throw uppercuts and try and catch Manny coming inside. If you can't catch him coming inside, cover up and try and catch him on his way out.
Stalk him into the ropes and the corners of the ring, tie him up and unload. Keep your hands up at all times.
    Throw punches! Be active!"

After about three rounds, I would have told Oscar to take a leaf out of Ricky's book and impose his will on Manny. If nothing else, it would make the fight compeititive.

    5) Victor Ortiz looked great. Strong, poised, and relativly polished, he will be a fighter to watch in the 140 pound division.
Juan Maneul Lopez continues to impress me. He has incredible power, speed and looks so comfortable in the ring. I am looking forward to watching him in the ring with Vasquez.

    6) The Production value of HBO's show was terrible. Lampley, Merchant and Steward stangigng in front of the camera with odd colored microphones talking about "subplots and storylines" was worse than watching paint dry. New faces are needed. Get the producers from 24/7 involved in the PPV events. Appeal to younger viewers!

Manny vs Floyd is the biggest potential fight in the sport right now.

I am looking forward to hearing your views and opinions.
Agree or disagree, I am interested in discussing last night's events.
    Cheers,
