Hatton and Calzaghe releasing xmas hits

Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton to square off in battle for Christmas No 1

10.11.08 - By Mark Pickering: British boxing icons Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton could land the biggest hits of their career in December as they trade the squared circle for the recording studio to battle for the highly coveted Christmas No 1 spot. While Calzaghe’s future remains unclear after his stunning victory over Roy Jones Jr. in the earlier hours of Sunday morning the 36-year-old will spend some welcome downtime recording a track with Welsh rockers the Stereophonics..

The Newbridge southpaw’s dad and trainer Enzo, 60, will write the song while his glamorous model girlfriend Jo-Emma, 27, will be the face of the music video.

Musical maestro Enzo and co. will have it all do as Ricky Hatton, who’s busy preparing for his Las Vegas showdown with Paulie Malignaggi on 22 November, has enlisted the services of Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.

The Mancunian trio will be looking to KO Team Calzaghe with Hi Ho Ricky Hatton, a take on the 1967 hit Hi Ho Silver Lining.

    from ESB.

Think it's fairly reliable, though surprised Joe would finally embrace the limelight like that. To me is screams retirement, and showbiz stuff ready for promoting and such. Oasis and Stereophonics are major artists, serious ****.

    This is suicide.

Nothing beats the X Factor for the number 1. Simon Cowell completley monopolised the christmas charts with his show. How long does it run for 3 months? Course millions of people are gonna buy the winners single, after theyve invested 3 months viewing in the person.

I hope this isn't true. God help us all.

I know. Their probably realistic about that though, xmas is increasingly a queue of such tunes in the top ten, can be good fun. I hate the xfactor **** normally. Hatton has more fans so he'll do well with Oasis defo. Calzaghe and Stereophonics a clear distant back runner, and god knows what else will be around. Feels weird just talking about it. Enzo's right it lol.

You expect this from Hatton, but Calzaghe?

lol, good ole Enzo. I just hope Joe doesn't make a show of himself. Yeah you expect this from Ricky, and he can pull off all that type of humour, but Joe...

Oasis vs Enzo. I wonder which song will be better?

haha, I think everyone would agree with all that's been said. I dunno will wait and see the tunes. It's xmas and can forgive one of tunes like this tbh. Stereophonics and Oasis rarely release ****, so I'd say they won't be awful tracks.

Enzo writing the song though, christ. Kelly Jones must be ****ting it (the lead singer of Stereophonics). How weird is that btw, Kelly being another rare man called Kelly....(Pavlik). And sur name Jones.
