XBC Heavyweight Tournament on Aug 29

There's a heavyweight tournament coming up, the first round will be on Aug 29 in Des Moines.

It will be televised by Fox Sports.

    Duncan Dokiwari 25 (22) - 3 (1) - 0
    Oleg Platov 26 (22) - 1 (0) - 0
    Chris Koval 24 (18) - 4 (3) - 0
    Javier Mora 21 (17) - 4 (1) - 1
    Fres Oquendo 29 (18) - 4 (2) - 0
    Cisse Salif 23 (21) - 10 (1) - 2
    Damian Wills 23 (17) - 2 (1) - 1
    Devin Vargas 16 (7) - 0 (0) - 0

At a press conference held a couple of weeks ago at the Westin Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, promoter Don House of the XBC (Xtreme Boxing Challenge) introduced 4 of the heavyweight fighters that will be taking part in the inaugural show on August 29 at the Wells Fargo Center in Des Moines, Iowa and televised on Fox Sports Net.

The concept is that instead of negotiations for fighters pay, they get paid for their performance.

The fighters fight 5 three minute rounds in a single elimination.

The first round of eliminations there is $50,000.00 total available to win at $10,000.00 per round. The fighter who wins each round gets $7,000.00 and the loser of the round gets $3000.00. Win the fight and advance to the second round of eliminations. If a fighter wins all 5 rounds he walks away with $35,000.00 and advances.

The second round of eliminations there will be $100,000.00 total available to win at $20,000.00 per round. The fighter who wins each round gets $15,000.00 and the loser of the round gets $5000.00. Win the fight and advance to the third round of eliminations.

The third and final round of eliminations there will be $600,000.00 total available to win at $120,000.00 per round. The fighter who wins each round gets $100,000.00 and the loser of the round gets $20,000.00.

not a bad idea, but fres oquendo is the best fighter and he is boring to watch.

Platov has a crowd-pleasing style. Salif is crude but he's a powerful puncher.

It might be fun to watch. They only get paid if they win, so they'll be going all-out.

Sad to say but Valuev versus Ruiz appeals a lot more than this XBC stuff.
I've seen just about everyone these guys in this event lose and not look too good doing it.
          May be entertaining though.

I love the idea. There is a Light Heavy and then a Super Middle tournament. I will do my best to get my guys on! Mack is 25-2 and Kamoko is 23-0!!

I cant beleive the money they are paying too. I wonder if it is true? What happens if a guy knocks a guy out he gets all the rounds?
