Who was more past their Hopkins – Calzaghe or Oscar –PBF

Hopkins was light heavyweight champion and was aged 43 when Calzaghe beat him, plus Hopkins was even able to knock him down in the first round. Hopkins lost this fight due to him being unabe to maintain the intensity and his stamina isn’t want it use to beat. Calzaghe moved up more his natural weight and had difficulties in that fight.

Oscar De La Hoya was a junior middleweight champion and was aged 34 when he lost to Mayweather. But Oscar De La Hoya speed was still there for his previous self. This power still remained. He couldn’t land due Mayweather great defence and his counter punching was taking a toll on Oscar

Simply, who was more past their prime, Hopkins fighting Calzaghe or Oscar fighting Mayweather???

is a poll even needed for this? I think the answer is pretty obvious. haven't seen any signs of dlh being past it yet. hopkins has been showing signs of sliding for the past 3-4 years now.

DLH didn't have great stamina past 140. And he fought some prime fights at 147 and 154. Hopkins has been a slow paced counter puncher for years, but he never got winded like he did against Joe C. Hopkins by far.

its hopkins but youre definitely trying your hardest to discredit joe.for starters hopkins has always been a fighter that threw few punches,he's always been a cagey fighter so the stamina issue is crap.hopkins made this an ugly fight.plain and simple.many of you have complained about cortez's reffing, this was one of those fights in which he wasn't at his finest considering hopkins's tactics.

Hopkins by far. Makes you really question Winky Wright. He just lost to Hopkins before this fight.

how can the stamina issue be crap? It was obviously a huge factor in the fight and bhop faded badly in the later rounds.

I am not trying to discredit Joe Calzaghe. I just made this thread because a lot of people question Floyd reason fighting a 34 year old De La Hoya. Was he really that past his prime who merely the fact he just couldn’t hit Mayweather.
