And it's not just because he turned pro when he was young. It's always been his lack of boxing skills and speed. The only thing that kept him winning once he became more of a seasoned pro was his size. And everybody knows that his best wins are against boxing duds who didn't amount to anything past a certain level.

That's why I have Cotto boxing margarito's ears off. Everybody thinks it's gonna be a war but I got a feeling Cotto is gonna show his versatility and use against Margarito what he doesn't have....and that's boxing skills.

After that it's back to fighting the Manuel Gomez's and Golden Johnson's of the world.

I have a similar feeling. I hope it doesn't turn out to be correct, but i can see Cotto being to smart to get involved and boxing the entire fight..

But, It will still be a good fight i think. I hope it's the war that some expect though!

I like Margarito. And i see fully where you are coming from. His fans are the most annoying on here imo. They act like he is an unbeatable P4P ATG or something. Does my head in

I used to be a big skeptic of Miguel Cotto. I thought that he would get owned against Mosley and he handled himself pretty good imo.
Although he won alot of big fights before that, against decent skilled fighters like Malignaggi, Quintana and Judah.....I thought it was all a bit of luck landing the right punch at the right time. And eventually he was gonna get outclassed I thought.

And although Mosley looked alot slower then in his prime, Cotto showed good accuracy and in the late rounds good movement while still effective offensivly. He is the high level type of fighter Margarito can't beat and never will beat with what he has in his arsenal.

Most of what you say is true, but Margarito does have skill, the problem is he is just slow. Ive watch him feint and set up punches up, that shot that hurt Cintron in the second fight, the first punch he threw was to set up the second one, it was one of those punches where you could tell he didnt care if he landed it, but the second shot is what he wanted to land and he did. Put Margarito in against a guy with the same hand speed and he will look good, I believe Cotto will box his socks off and if Margo has a chance it will be from catching Cotto or later in the fight when Cotto gets tired, if he gets tired.
