Was Leonard as ragged on as Mayweather is?

I don't think it gets any worse than calling a press conference saying you have a huge announcement, inviting Marvin Hagler, standing in the middle of the ring and saying, I'M RETIRING, NOT FIGHTING MARVIN HAGLER.

Yet Sugar Ray is beloved now. I'll say it again and again. In ten years, you will LOVE Mayweather just like you love Ali, just like you love Leonard. Hated in their time, missed badly after.

None of you have any idea if Mayweather is coming back to fight the Cotto-De La Hoya winner. My money says he will. The only one who can screw this up is Cotto by losing to Margarito. Cotto needs to prove himself and earn a mega money fight. If he wins this one, he deserves it. If he beats Oscar, he'll get it.

I would have hated him. Imagine how Pryor fans felt.

Pryor wasnt no Ricky Hatton either.

Leonard was the peoples champ. They ****in loved the guy in his prime u kidding??? Sure he had his haters too, everyone does.

Leonard fought the best of the best of the best every time out almost. He also made a ROCKY like comeback that captured the publics imagination.

Mayweather will never be loved by the public ever. Maybe we will miss him, but nobody is gonna is gonna adore the guy liek we do Leonard or Ali. lol

Leonard was really good with the media and came off like a likable guy. He didn't make it rain with hunnid dolla bills, etc.

But I do think if mayweather stays retired for a while and comes back, everyone will be cheering for him.

You continue to show how little you know about the sport. Ali's trash talk was worlds worse than Mayweather's was. I live in Louisville. I was born here. People HERE hated him and many still do. So don't tell me Mayweather is the most hated guy out there. Maybe right now but compared to history? Not even close.

Even if they don't it doesn't change the fact that Leonard avoided the biggest fight in boxing and nobody even cares about that now. Sure, they fought later. And Cotto's chances get a LOT better if this fight happens in a year or two. A Mayweather layoff is the only way Cotto can win that fight so I don't know what his fans are crying for.

If they can't appreciate his talents now they don't deserve to admire them in the years to come.Mayweather is the closest any of us will see to a perfect boxer. At 135 he was not beatable! He should of fought Cotto but even with that win-He should of fought Marg but he should of fought Williams. What people don't understand is that welterweight is not Mayweathers original weight class.I know that he claimed he was the best, but in terms of overall skill he was!

Perhaps, and more so if I he drops that ****ing ****** gangster act bull****. If he stays away for a bit he could reinvent himself and possibly get the respect that he rightly deserves but denies himself due to his foolish antics outside of the ring.
