It actually does make alot of sense. If he did get past ODH, and being a fan of ODH I can admit it could have probably happened in a carbon copy of the last fight... then he would have had either Margarito and Cotto waiting. He knows he can't keep making excuses and would have had to eventually fight one of the two. Why tarnish your "perfect" career?

Hopefully this is all just a ploy though, because if Mayweather retired for real... he's really just a better than average chump who, in the end, would rather run than take the true risks like all the other greats did.
