  • Bob Arum: "Golden Boy's Fighters Will Not Beat Ours"

Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, in a recent interview with The Fight Network, said the fighters under contract with Golden Boy Promotions will not beat the current crop of superstars under the Top Rank banner. Arum and Golden Boy owner Oscar De La Hoya waged a personal war for a few years that began when De La Hoya left Top Rank to start his own promotional company. [details]

What's the current tally on Golden Boy vs. Top Rank? Seems like Top Rank is dominating that rivalry in terms of the big fights. Here's what I know for sure:

Pacquiao TKO Barrera - Top Rank
Barrera MD Morales - Golden Boy
Pacquiao UD Barrera - Top Rank
Cotto UD Mosley - Top Rank
Pacquiao SD Marquez - Top Rank

    Any big ones I missed?

no matter how manny golden girl fans are out there, Top Rank is the best company out there. they dont just sign stars, they make stars, just out of the current roster Golden Girl Boxing & Fish nets Promotions has some good prospects in Abner Mares who is their brightest prospect and um so far thas about it, they have un-tested but good prospects like Danny and Jacobs but look at top rank, Peterson Bros, Vanes Martirosyan, Victor Ortiz (although not for long), Mikey Garcia, Brandon Rios, Juanma Lopez, Urbano Antillon, Raul Martinez, Argenis Mendez, Giovanni Segura, Mike Alvarado, Yuri Foreman, Jose Aguiniga and Chavez Jr. not to mention their new-born star that they build up Kelly Pavlik.

GBP's figthers might get more $ and spotlight, but Arum's stable seems to be slightly superior.

Wow, such hatred. Do you think anyone would care if you died? I wouldn't.

Golden Boy has all of these great fighters, but what are they doing with them? A whole lot of nothing? Which superstars have Golden Boy created? None, they were all stars anyways when they got to GBP. Top Rank has been making stars for years.

Remember, de la Hoya, Mayweather, Barrera, Marquez, these guys were made into stars by Arum, not GBP.
