  • who is a harder body puncher, Cotto or hopkins?

    yeah it's a serious question

basically this troll under the name of cortdawg25 tries to argue with me that hopkins is a harder puncher than miguel cotto.

against oscar de la hoya, hopkins showed up at 156 and ko'd oscar in the 9th round with a bodypunch, that looked like a feather compared to the punishment that cotto is able to unleash to the midsection.

check the last 5 pages of that thread

the guy obviously needs to be made an example of. im so sick of these goddamn trolls

    Pound for pound, Cotto.

Edit: Hopkins is naturally the harder puncher though, he's a natural light heavyweight fighting at middlweight whereas Cotto is a natural welterweight.

        p4p cotto...

        but overall?

IF YOU WERE to hook a heavybag up with sensors... id bet by house bernard can hit the bag low harder than cotto.

having more weight over cotto can be an advantage to him, overall he punches harder, stiffer hands, but cant's generate the same force hooking to the body the way cotto does. assuming hopkins fought at middleweight not light heavy

the 156 version of hopkins against de la hoya would punch to the body harder than 147 pound cotto, who is a specialist of the body punching art? i dont agree with that. the punch he hit oscar with looked like nothing that miguel is able to do when he puts leverage behind his shots

from what i've seen and heard, i think Cotto is an overrall harder puncher than Hop regardless of size.

Hopkins was a pretty good body puncher back in the day but he doesn't do it anymore because it's way too dangerous to be slugging like that at over 40 years of age.
