Floyd must face the winner of Marg Cotto

No doubt when these two fight we will be in for a treat but there is no question that the winner of this fight will be the true welter weight force out there for Mayweather to deal with, if Floyd opts to fight Hatton after his rematch with De La Hoya rather than to face the winner I can see him lose public appeal in a major way here.
so much so that he might drop a notch in the P4P ratings, its about time though, However I get this feeling Floyd throws the fight with Oscar to sum up a third big money fight with Oscar than retires.
its time for Floyd to start taking on someone that is real instead of hand picked fights.

I don't think his ego will let him throw a fight. He's undefeated. Oscar already had 3 losses when he laid down for Hopkins.

Floyd's ego will eventually bring about a fight against Cotto as long as Cotto beats Margarito. If Margarito wins, I don't expect Floyd to fight him. Cotto is undefeated and everybody's darling. Margarito just lost what last year?

If Marg were to pull of the win he would deserve the shot..
a loss is a loss.. why should that take away from him beating the second best and earnig a shot?
I dont think he will though and Cotto wins in a very close fight.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. And that is a shame because it could be the biggest fight for serious boxing fans that we have had in years.

Are you serious, Mayweather thowing his unbeaten record away to make mayweather de la hoya 3?

              I seriously doubt it.

I keep saying this over and over.

Mayweather may fight de la hoya, but look for ellerbe to make the million dollar phone call to either cotto or margarito this year. Rumours are that Mayweather doesnt like the idea of doing buisness with arum who he reckons owes him money, but he would ideally like cotto next. We could have seen this fight earlier if arum hadnt booked cotto up to fight before mayweather fought hatton.

Arums done it yet again, cotto wins, but he goes straight into a date with margarito, no room was left for floyd negotiations, apparently cotto doesnt even call floyd out on hbo. This isnt just mayweathers doing, arum and cotto are waiting to see a weakness in mayweather before they take the fight.

Anyways, the fight has to happen, if cotto calls him out after marg and mayweather declines, floyd deserves the flack.

Good point. The Cotto fight would be bigger for Floyd and more winnable too. Either way, if he punks out on the winner of this one he is a ****in *****.

                  .

Why is this so far out of reality? I mean lets be honest Floyd has said two things over and over in his career, he wants to fight and beat all of the best, well that isnt happening.
He has also said that if it makes dollas it makes sense, that seems to be the issue, DLH twice and potentially Hatton twice, in other words he wont fight the best he will take the best paying fights period and you know he wants to keep making money and I am sure he doesnt want to earn money the hard way so why not go after a third sparring session with DLH?

Contrary to your belief Floyd has tons of pride and he wouldn't throw his pride away to lose a fight on purpose.
