I love mayweather's style and personality BUT...

I have to say i think hes a ***** and a fake. Think about it did we really ask to see
de la hoya vs. mayweather no we were asking for mayweather vs. margarito

or even better did we ask for mayweahther vs. hatton no we were asking for
mayweather to fight the top dog in the WW division miguel cotto.

if you think about it mayweather handpicks fights with people that have marketable names, people he knows he could beat and just hopes for the real challengers(margarito/cotto/williams/mosley take) to eventually lose. he did it with margarito via paul williams, he did it with mosley when he lost his fight to cotto, he did it with williams who lost to quintana and hes hoping for it with cotto(margarito, cintron, gomez take your pick) he does this just so he can say "see i told this guy wasnt that good i problably wouldve knocked him out" but the point is floyd could beat these guys and instead of leaving doubt within the boxing community he should just beat them all and leave none. for some odd reason i think he doubts himself because if he wasnt such a ***** there would be no bull**** about "cotto is the real welterweight champ" or "what if margarito fought mayweather a bit sooner"
it would be just plain and simple to see that mayweather is the real welterweight champ this why Joe calzaghe has no problem claiming hes the best supermiddleweight because he fights all challengers to his throne

At this point in his career, he's only interested in riding the coat-tails of popular fighters, that way he can capitilize off of thier ppv drawing power.

...**** off. Everyone was screaming for a Judah fight and he fought him (a couple months later then he should of). Everyone was screaming for a Hatton fight and he fought him (about a year later)...

Guess what? History will speak for itself. You know the next Bert Sugar will be analyzing the hell out of Mayweather's legacy in boxing. The names on his resume are good but not great. He clearly is picking the fights he wants, which is a smart business move but not one that really pleases the fans. Dude is a character though.

I want to see him fight the best. I think we all want that. Man the **** up Floyd. Fight someone relevant. He's right in ****ing front of you. (Not Big Show, or DLH).

Yeah, he fought Judah coming off of a loss to a lead footed journeyman with 9 losses and 12 KO's. The public ****ing demanded that.

I was very eager to see a Judah/Floyd fight, but the loss to Baldomir kind've took the steam out of it. Overall, it was still a very good fight.

All who tried that have been humiliated in the ring. Floyd is smart. He's not even a true WW or a young cat coming up. He's already 31 and was beating p4p king chico when he was 23! Noone does that anymore. Now he's capitalizing on those acomplishments and as he gets older he looks for the most money and not risk it so much. I'd do the same. Also don't forget PBF is a small guy and is always smaller than his opponents sometimes alot smaller. Oscar can go into a ring weighting 170 pounds and Mayweather probably puts on 153.

The real problem here is people are used to see blacks being dumb as **** when it comes to boxing decisions (Jones, Hollifield, Judah) and worse when it comes to money so they can do something else. In some minds it is normal to see our brothers fighting out of their primes much like a dogs you poke with a stick, provoked. No career planning at all. Maybe Mayweather is different dispite all the "Flashing"... Fighters fight, true but should also know when to stop. And if Mayweather is fighting Oscar he is showing he wants to stop. Maybe he's cashing out.

Margarito would never beat Floyd Mayweather. EVER. That would be a disgrace.

probably doesn't matter much... because he will eventually fight cooto and people will say the same about someone else.

Not really. Only the fanboys of those fighters were. The true boxing fans knew Hatton was overrated and Judah is mentally ****ed in every fight. I wanted a Cotto/Margarito/Williams fight for Floyd for awhile now. Fighters that have an edge on him in different areas and that would actually give him trouble. You know, unlike a past his prime Oscar. But we all know, Floyd isn't afraid to let you know that he's all about the money, and Oscar brings in the $$$. Floyd is business man first, fighter second. **** if we had more Floyd's, let's just quit watching boxing.
