If not for injuries Kessler would've won.

Kessler lost a UD to Calzaghe. I'm convinced he would've won if not for injuring his hand and thereby missing 2 weeks of the most impotant sparring leading up to the fight.

    Here's an abstract from doghouseboxing:
'GM: Do you come away from it reevaluating your style or the things you could have done?

MK: Yeah. Of course. The things I could have done different. You always look at that. But as I say, I don’t want to come with bad excuses. That’s why I said after the fight I don’t have any problems with my hands in the fight. But I had it like three weeks before the fight. But I know for the next fight, everything has to be 100%. And I feel that now I lost one fight out of my forty fights, now I know that next time I will be ready. Now I know how to not get so many injuries. I can only get better from my loss and be a better fighter.'

yah, uh.....no he would not have won! i like kessler alot, but he would have lost 10 of 10 times! the injuries had nothing to do with kessler getting outboxed! he was totally dominated by joe. his hands had little to do with the outcome. hurt or not his punches were not landing!

I don't think he would have beaten Calzaghe.

How? He was throwing bombs all night, he obviously fought through the pain.

Calzaghe is just better. Besides, Calzaghe is 36 years old, it could be said that Joe would of KOed Kessler if he was 28 but no one is making excuses.

Any fighter will tell u that losing 2 weeks of sparring leading up to an important fight is devastating. Not Kessler though. A class act.

He could of postponed the fight for 2 weeks, it's not Joe's fault. Joe beat him so convincingly I don't think it would matter what Kessler showed up. Calzaghe was/is simply better than him.

He said before the fight he had no such hand injuries and he certainly didn't fight like he did so therefore there is no need to speculate about this anymore. It's the same thing when he had a back injury against Mundine, it's his fault if it costs him.

No matter what level Kessler could have produced Calzaghe had another gear.

Everytime Kessler upped it Joe went higher, he says he fight to the opponent and you know what i believe him.
