  • The real difference between Bore Hard and The Blow's competition...

Seriously. If The Blow had one of them on his passport he'd be talked about in the same terms here.

I at little kids on here who have watched boxing for two months who say **** like "yo,, calslappy dont never fought nobody, 'cept Lacy". Because to a little punk kid the only boxers worth acknowledging are those that are shown on Showtime or HBO... especially if they're Yanks. The idea that people would use the internet to watch fights from all over the world, or do RESEARCH on boxers they've never heard of is, apparently, one beyond 70% of posters who **** on this forum with know-nothing bull****.

Robin Reid was an olympic medalist and former WBC titleholder who had a 27 (19)-1-1 record when he fought The Blow. But because six years later when he was completely washed up and at the end of his career he lost to Lacy it invalidates him, right?

If you look at The Blow's career record - and I mean LOOK, not be a f.aggot - then you'll see that around 1 in 2 of his opponents were genuinely worthwhile. That's not a great tally by any means, and I'm NOT suggesting his career is stellar. But the likes of (old) Chris Eubank, Mikkel Kessler, even Lacy and Bika PISS over the likes of Andrew Council, Robert Allen (three times) and Howard Eastman.

The only reason why Yanks believe in Hopkins's record is because he fought "names". Does anyone REALLY think that Tito, Oscar, Winky or Tarver could beat The Blow? The only one of those four that was at their natural weight was Tarver, and that's forgetting that Tarver was always **** anyway.

The need for a "name" on a record is laughable when we're talking about two foot Mexicans WAY above their natural weight class. The other two "names" that Hopkins gets credit for - Taylor and Roy - are people that he LOST to.

I actually regard the career opp. of Hopkins and The Blow as more or less even. It's hilarious to me to see people talk about The Blow fighting "nobody" (who sounds like a busy man, as all non-American boxers seem to fight him on here) and then say they're a Hopkins fan.

Understand, this isn't an attempt to validate "da only gud boxer from da uk*, lmao, pwn!" because I know that The Blow is legit. It's just another pointer at how much ill-educated, xenophobic bull**** makes up this place in the name of "opinion".

    Get educated, slags.

    * Another gem that's come up since The Paler got beat. The fact that the UK currently has the undisputed cruiserweight champ alone should be enough to put paid to that one.

Decent post, expect a reply mentioning Tocker Pudwill for some reason.

I gave you green K just for the line above, magic!

Hopkins really did manage to milk the most out of every win he got though.

You are right that his wins over De La Hoya and Trinidad are not much, but are viewed as such.

To be honest, except for an old Eubank, and a Robin Reid who never got over the hump (which has a lot to do with officiating/judging), there really was no one stellar on Calzaghe's resume until Lacy and Kessler.

Lacy sucks, but can ANYONE blame Joe for taking that fight? No one thought Lacy ****** before Calzaghe ****ing killed him.

Kessler is a great win... anyone who says otherwise is a dumbass.

That's the problem, when they fought, virtually everyone thought Lacy would completely demolish and expose Calzaghe, Lacy was the next big thing and no way was Calzaghe gonna win. Now, Lacy is an overrated average fighter on Calzaghe's resume. It was a lose-lose situation for Calzaghe. He beat him, he gets little credit, if he would have ducked him or lost, everybody would call him a bum.

That's it exactly... The Blow makes people into bums.

Dwiens, like I said, his comp isn't STELLAR, but those who say it's just half a dozen names (and even then I'm being generous around here) are doing him a disservice.

                    Well I don't give a ****.

Anyone who dominates that much in a unification bout deserves a ******* or two.
