Who seriously thinks Clottey can beat Cotto?

I didn't even have to see that Joke of a fight on Versus 2nite to know what's going to happen if Arum allows Clottey to get in there with Cotto!! But watching the fight; I had to make this thread!

I KNOW for a fact Cotto is going to punish him if the fight is ever made, but it seems a lot of people are over-estimating Clottey's abilities (or lack of) and under-estimating what Miguel can do. Clottey is a good basic fighter, he will NEVER beat an ELITE pugilist! People are going to say "Well, Clottey was beating Margarito ass until he broke his hand!" I beg to differ...

In every fight i've seen Clottey in he's starts out good, working both head & body coming out of that Air tight D...but it usually only last for a 4-5rds. Clottey has poor stamina/conditioning (sometimes taking full rounds off), below average foot-work (not effective going backwards or w/ lateral movement, & He doesn't move his head (sucker for the jab, & str8 rights)

I'm not saying Miguel is perfect, but he is PROVEN against ELITE opposition! I'm pretty sure Cotto would get rocked early, stay behind his jab & wear Clottey out with a good array of punches to make him quit on his stool (claiming a broken jaw, or some fake injury) around the 9th or 10th rd!

When Cotto fight Judah no one gives Cotto a chance of winning..

yeah a lotta people do over rate Clottey and it really does him no justice. Joshua Clottey is very talented no doubt. however

Clottey was in there tonight with an inexperienced, over matched opponent who he was having his way with, and couldn't get the kayo

hey Clottey won tonight by UD and was never in danger of losing the fight.

but im still a bit disapointed.

If only Clottey had a jab...

You can't let powerful guys like Cotto **** on your arms and body. Cotto would definitely beat the crap out of Clottey. If I was Cotto I would take this fight immediately because he's a well-respected contender who will give you a good test and a good KO win.

I think Clottey is very good fighter, but i agree, he proved tonight that his body is so open for sweeping body shots, which is basically Cotto's specialty.

Cotto would stop Clottey with body shots.

Clottey is a VERY tough challenge for Cintron, i would definetly go with Clottey in that fight

I think a lot of it has to do with his mentality! Did anyone see him coming out Dancing with a big "kool-aid" grin on his face 2nite? Take the Margarito fight for instance, he came out strong behind his jab, countering looking good...then once Marg started throwing his punches in bunches around the 5th round Clottey went into retreat (he can say he broke his hand, maybe he did, but this a consistent pattern through out his career) Even in the Corrales fight, (R.I.P.) he leaned on Diego & ****** up whatever was thrown a him, B/c Corrales was a career lightweight & he was able to take some "rounds off" without any danger...we saw him knock him down twice in the 9th or 10th round; if Clottey wanted to he could have stopped him! Joshua has talent no doubt, but it seems he is just content with that! He doesn't want to put the WORK in necessary...

That's what separated the good from the greats... more specifically the difference between Contenders and Champions!

yeah im not even that surprised that he couldn't kayo Alverez

but its very disapointing when Clottey's in there having his
way with his opponent yet can't close the show.

and even the Corrales fight .. with all due respect to Diego .. you put Cotto or Cintron in there instead and they seal the deal

Clottey really shouldn't be back pedaling vs Alvarez.
