No, I wouldn't have stopped it. And I wouldn't have stopped it where Taylor got stopped either. I would have let Pavlik knock him down and see if Taylor could get up, if not .. Then that's his problem

      Stop it? Are you kidding?

The only thing I would have stopped if I was the Ref, was to split the fighters when Jermain Taylor threw his elbow high. It happened really quick - but if you watch it, Taylor would have never gotten that knockdown. Don't get me wrong, he had Pavlik hurt, but Taylor threw his elbow real high, Pavlik blocked it luckily and went to say something, that's when he got caught.

It would have a terrible stoppage if it was stopped then. You see terrible stoppages more than you'd like to now adays which is the only reason you can rasie the issue.

that's epitome of a bad stoppage if you stop a fight and the guy in this case pavlik was able to come back and score a knockout.

Steve Smoger is a ****ed up referee, he basicly does'nt stop a fight unless a fighter would die, if it was ANY other ref it would have been stopped in the 2nd round, pavlik's legs were completely gone and he was doing the judah dance.

That big stumble, you mean right after he was hit CLEARLY behind the back of his head? **** now that I remember it, most of those shots that landed were behind the head. I don't know who wouldn't go down from those. Good thing ref didn't stop it so Pavlik could beat his ass in that corner
