    Is Vernon Forrest underrated??

Maybe it's just me but I don't think Forrest gets the recognition he deserves. His only 2 losses on his record came from Mayorga when EVERYBODY knows Forrest had an injured shoulder and wasn't 100%. And he beat a prime Mosley twice in 2002. Just wondering what you guys think?

I'd like to see him fight Spinks sometime in early 2008.

I have to agree. I read people on here saying he looked slower. That's BS he fought Baldomir anyone is going to look like the Matrix with decent speed. He is still very game and put on a wonderful and crowd pleasing performance. For his age his handspeed is great. He will give anyone trouble. He should stay right at 154 though to stay the most effective.

Him and Spinks would be a great matchup and a tough fight to pick a winner. They are the two best at 154 in my opinion.

He is seriously underrated, if injuries hadn't derailed him he would be on the p4p list as we speak. He is also has the ability to beat the p4p number 1, PBF.

I can maybe see how he could use that excuse for the frist fight. But He knew that the rematch was the biggest fight of his life. After being KOed do you really think he would even consider another fight at anything less than 100%? This "I was hurt when I fought Mayorga stuff" was never said untill the past few years. I should find a old interview of him saying he was comin in the best shape of his life.

Vernon Forrest is a pretty good slick fighter, I still am pissed off at him for beating my boy Shane Mosley twice, I am still not over that ****. Forrest hasn't been overly impressive at 154, he definately lost to Quartey IMO. I wanna see Forrest face the tough SOB Roman Karmazin, I think Karmazin is too strong for Forrest and he would win by late TKO in a great close fight.

Maybe its his lackluster basic boxing style?

Im a huge forrest fan, but he looked way out of shape and very average tonight. He showed good power but he looked extremely average. He is underrated based on his career. But last night, Showtime made him look a little overrated on his performance. Just being honest. He has more left than most 36 year olds but Im gonna say an in shape and focused mayorga 154 beats forrest again.

The knock downs were great. The fight not so great.

I belive Mayorga would still own Forest. I seen way to many flaws and he was too tentative at times.

I didn't even know Forest v. Baldomier was for the real WBC title, what the **** i up with boxing when its gets even more difficult to know which fighter is the real Champion.

Emanuel Steward says all of it during his entrance in the fight against Ike Quartey.

There is a file uploaded of Forrest vs. Quartey I believe... you might want to DL it tonight and just watch that part if you don't believe it. You can also continue to watch it if you want to see one hell of a robbery.

Mayorga landed a lucky temple shot in his first fight with Forrest and made career out of it. Forrest was robbed in the second fight, however Forrest should still have 2 losses in his career, Quartey clearly beat Forrest. Forrest will actually will stop Mayorga now, if there is a third fight.
