  • Marquez vs Pacquiao II on March 15?

    Marquez wants Pacman

“I want a fight with Manny Pacquiao,” asserted Marquez.

In 2004, the two fought to a controversial stalemate—now Marquez feels the time is right for a rematch.

Marquez stated for the record, in English, “I know that Manny Pacquiao said ‘I am Mexican killer.’ He hasn’t proved it. He hasn’t proved me.”

Oscar De La Hoya feels that this is a fight that boxing needs right now.

“If you want to be called the best at 130 pounds, you have to go through Marquez,” said De La Hoya. “It’s a match-up that the whole world wants to watch. It’s a match-up that has to happen.”

Fortunately for fight fans, this fight looks to be inevitable.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaffer, relayed:

“Both (Bob) Arum and I, we already met and we talked about this fight, in case Juan Manuel Marquez did win. We have the date reserved, which is March 15th, of next year. I will be with Bob next week in New York for the Mosley-Cotto fight and I will have further discussions and negotiations with him.

“I hope that within the next couple of weeks, we can put that fight together.”

Marquez vs Pacquiao II will land on March 15, unless Pacquiao says no.

I think Marquez can pull off the upset, he is Mexico's last hope at 130 pounds and he can't let his country down. Marquez is coming off 3 impressive wins over Barrera,Juarez and Jaca. Am I the only one who thinks Pacquiao has lost a little fire or was that just Barrera fighting like a coward making Pacman look bad.

You got a lot of company. I agree that they must settle the money split issue once and for all. Nacho should stay out of the money deals and let hoya do all the talking, otherwise, bob will be turned off again and again and again. Stay out of it nacho!!!!

True Nacho is a great trainer but his managing skills get in the way sometimes. This fight needs to happen somehow plus there is a lot demand by boxing fans for it and plus it would be a good fight for Manny to end his reign at SFW.

JMM doesn't have to worry about money after his big pay day against Johns.
