    Tito Vs. Hopkins Rematch...official???

Don't know if this has been posted or not (so don't kill me but I found this recent article on 15rounds.com

    Hopkins to Sign Two-Fight Deal
    Luis Enrique
Marc Abrams contributed to this Report.

According to Middleweight king Bernard Hopkins, he will be in New York on Wednesday to meet with HBO Executives, where they will announce his plans for a two-fight deal.

"I will be in New York tomorrow to sign a two-fight deal — the final two fights of my career — with HBO." Hopkins said on the Angelo Caltidi Show (a local cable show in Philadelphia), "The first fight will be in January against Felix Sturm, and the second will be pay-per-view against Felix Trinidad in June."

Hopkins is coming of an impressive knock-out victory over The "Golden Boy" Oscar De La Hoya (37-4-0, 29 KO's), last month in Las Vegas.

Many believe, Felix Sturm — the man he is slated to fight in Janurary — beat De La Hoya in June of this year, when the two met on the middleweight twin-bill that feature both Oscar, and Bernard Hopkins. The majority of boxing fans were unfamiliar with Sturm, who was undefeated at the time, but with no experience outside of Europe. The German-born fighter would lose a contraversial decision, but would walk away with the respect of the boxing-public, including De La Hoya's.

Assuming Hopkins gets past Sturm, then the pride of Philadelphia will face Felix "Tito" Trinidad (42-1, 35 KO's), in June of 2005, in what will be undoubtedly the most anticipated rematch of the year.

In September of 2001, Bernard The "Executioner" Hopkins, became a household name overnight, when he handed Trinidad his first legitimate defeat — stopping him in the 12th round — in New York's Madison Square Garden.

I doubt those reports but I hope it's true. I think Tito can beat Hopkins if he fights INTELLIGENTLY!

i think its more of a case
that hopkins has wwhat it takes to not let tito beat him
if tito is to beat hopkins
it would have to be from hopkins maken some sort of a mistake
      but unfortuantly for tito
i dont see hopkins maken any mistakes against him
tito should just stick to welter and junior welter weights
      maybe Zab will fight him?

right now I would have to give the edge in a rematch to Hopkins, since he hasn't shown any significant changes since the last fight.
I will reserve final judgement, though, until I see the Tito-Spinks fight. If Tito can catch up with Spinks early, it will be a more even contest with Hopkins. If Tito can't catch up to Spinks, I will have to say that Hopkins has a decided edge in a rematch.

What? Hopkins is getting old and DLH was winning that fight until he got KTFO. If DLH can fight B-Hop that way then Tito CERTAINLY can as well. I think Hop is getting old and will show it soon enough.

Hopkins has been showing his age it's just his opponents haven't been good enough to beat him.

sorry, but DLH won the fight againt Tito. It pains me to say it, but it's true. Plus, DLH has always moved better in the ring than Tito, which is a key to fighting Hopkins.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Tito does alot better in a rematch because I don't think Hopkins can duplicate what he did in the first fight. I still say Hopkins beats him though but I'm still going for Tito.

This will be a awesome fight if it happens again and this time i think it will be different. Alot has changed since then and Tito's body seems to have settled into his newer bigger shape well. Besides, Bernard cannot stay prime forever and the longer he keeps fighting the more at risk he is of getting beat. I'm not saying Bernard will win but i think Tito will have learned from the mistakes he made in the first fight. If anyone can give Bernard a hard time then it's Titoin my opinion.
