By what objective standard is looking lustfully at a woman, remember just looking, worthy of any sort of punishment at all? Would you, for example, support a jail sentence for checking out women? Would you support a fine? A slap on the wrist? A stern talking to? Of course not, that would be ridiculous. But apparently it's justified to horribly torture somebody FOREVER for the same crime. 1 and seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set down, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. nope, has alot to say about ones actions and how blessed they are. i know its from his imagination which is why i only refer to it as an idea “He himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.” Corinthians 3:15 |

It conjures up images of a lobotomised monkey being forced to play Russian roulette in some twisted experiment. U think me being eternally tortured for having the odd wank and telling my missus she aint fat is justified? |

Adultery 27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[e] 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. Divorce 31 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’[f] 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. Ooh that's a bit crazy. Furthermore 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Then Ephesians 2 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. I can find more. The bible does not say that you can be "saved" through good works alone and it also says that doing wrong isn't necessarily a barrier to getting to heaven. Seems to me the most important aspect is believing. |
