Maybe this is a good thing. He can retire with win number 70. Was it a legit win atleast? I see it was an SD.

allright... so james toney comes in, the crowds all pro toney. the guys in back of me were all pumped up, "oh he looks good, oh hes even got abs... damnnnn he got a two pack now?"

uhm. by the end of the fight theyre saying "hes washed up, hes fat, i hate him i dont want his autograph ill shake his hand but i dont want that **** ill fight toney right now im 185 looking good ill whoop his ass... "

toney got booed so hard the whole fight, the crowd even booed the decision cause he gave such a boring fight. to be real with you, toney probably won the fight. but i'm not surprised with the booing it was a horrid fight.

then again, the guy he fought kept running. he wouldnt do anything. youd think theyd boo him.
but he was a bum, whenever he did fight he'd leave his chin wide open, he never moved his head. he should have been KO'd

and wowwww... how many times did toney come wit hthe over hand right.. miss badly and lose his footing.. balance.. all of that??? it was EMBARRASSING...
those guys in the back i told you about?? they were such ahrdcore toney fans when he was 150 and they were goin nuts about the way he boxed..

honestly i think toney coulda done better if the guy pressured him and he counterpunched but the guy ran all night, and toney chased him and did nothing.
his hands were by his waist and his jab was slow, none of them landed.

he had no power in any of his shots, most of them were slaps...
didnt even move into the punches, didnt get his body weight into it.

      my god it was ugly
      that guys a bum.

Im getting images of the Rahman fight. This is horrible. I wish he would just retire instead of go on like this. I mean he has always fought to the level of his opponent it seemed, but I can tell this isnt good. Its over, time to hang em up.

i say he hits the atkins diet for 2 months, takes a shot at the cruiser title, then retires win, lose or failure to make weight

                  Time to Retire

It's time for James Toney to retire. He's had a great career - how many boxers nowadays have 70 wins? Five years ago he would have easily beaten Batchelder, he wouldn't have had to settle for a split decision.

He can retire gracefully with his last fight being a win.

here's a newspaper article to verify baller's review of the fight:

very sad, toney is literally my favorite fighter.
hopefully this is a wakeup call for him to get down to cruiser.
losing weight can turn back the clock for someone with his skills
(or am i trying to hard at this point?
