Hey Guys, I set my heavy bag up at home...
I know it's not as good as working at the gym, but it is good for keeping in shape and throwing punches.
I got some nice wrist wraps too, some good bag gloves.
I've been biking pretty hard and I noticed something bad, I have a kinda bad knee but I always where a brace, I don't know if it's gonna hold. I go pretty hard on the bike, which I prefer over running due to less shock impact.
Running will probably have to come though, for lung capacity. I will only run on grass or a rubber track, but I'm thinking maybe I should keep these workouts lighter for my knee.
I pushed really hard on the bike and I probably shouldn't have.
Punching the heavy bag is a really good workout for cardio for me and also good on the arms. It is also not as hard on my knee, I try to keep bouncing and moving so I can kind of mimick moving around the ring.
I've been doing a lot of crunches too and the abs are really tightening up, when I do crunches while I'm driving (basically flex the abs) they feel rock hard. I just gotta get my weight down.
I got sick today so that should bring it down cause I'm only drinking juice, I know that's probably bad, but hey, it lowered my weight and I'm not working out while I'm sick.
Things are progressing well, but I really am concerned about my knee. I've had x-rays done before and there are no chips or anything, I have offset kneecaps that kinda rub against the bone. But it feels different this time, it's usually my left (which has given me no problems...) It feels kinda sore right above my right knee cap on the left side, when I walk too fast or something it feels a little tight like the muscle above the kneecap is stretching too far.
But I got the number of a guy in town here who said he'd train anyone (after all who doesn't want to make money?). Maybe he will know more about how I can train properly so I don't injure the knee.
Anyway, I feel pretty good. You know when your metabolism increases and you just feel like you have energy. It's a good feeling.
So I'm 5'10 1/2 and I'm down to 157. I think I'm goin for 147 cause I know I can pull some fat off I still have. Just updating everyone here. Man I love boxing.
When I'm just belting out on the bag man, I feel better than any other time. Does anyone else get that rush? Just standin there saying you are, this is me and fighting to be.

hai heavy bag buddy! hehe, i got mine about 4 years ago, and for quite a while, it just sat there without being used, but now i am getting back into it, for a while, its pretty much just a good workout, punching the bag till i can punch no more, but now im going for a bit more technique hehe! anyway good luck!
