I had an opportunity to interview NJ Senator Bob Menendez (D) at the Philippine-American Friendship Day Parade in Jersey City yesterday. I asked him what he felt the Filipino-Americans, particularly in New Jersey, mean to the communities in which they live in. He said:
"These are families that exhibit everything that is an American value; strong faith, a strong sense of family and community, a sense of serving community. And in all of those different things that make up a great nation, the Filipino community is an example of that."
The full article on the parade will be available this Friday in the Filipino Reporter newspaper.
