Oscar hadnt fought at 147 in like 8 years and hes the kind of guy that always blew up and got fat between fights. He really underestimated how hard it would be to make 147.
He also didnt realize manny going from 135 to 147 would basically be weighing the same he always did, without having to drain at all. So you got a super fresh guy who can eat steak and potatoes the day of the weigh in versus a guy who had to have saline solution injected into his veins because his electrolytes were ****ed from severe dehydration.
