  • How do you definitively BEAT Bernard Hopkins?

We've never seen Bernard Hopkins definitively beaten. Chad Dawson and maybe Calzaghe gave him his worst beatings in recent years. Both of those losses werent beatings by any stretch. They were both close and competitive fights. How do you beat Hopkins 117 - 111 or wider? Or better yet, how would someone go in and STOP hopkins. I know a lot of fighters and trainers peruse the board, gimme some of your expert opinion and insight.

Super, once in a generation type athleticism. Ability to throw punches that no other human beings could ever dream of, and cat like reflexes.

This man has a case as well. Even though they never fought.

      This guy too.

Watch out for Hopkins's right hand throughout the whole fight. Duck his jabs and move to his left. Keep close to him but avoid clinching with your head anywhere near his. Pressure him to the ropes and bang the body for the first 6 rounds. Watch out for his head and the right. When he tires, start scoring to the head. Don't go for the KO, just keep busier and outwork him to win on the scorecards. You won't catch Hopkins centre-ring unless you set up your punches with range-finding jabs and good leverage. Oh and that right uppercut. Avoid.

Martinez would have been a good fight, I think he is enough of a showman and fast enough to possibly win rounds definitively. still dont think it would be a clear victory since Sergio would likely fade down the stretch. too bad they came around at MW at different times

You beat Hopkins by being a Klitschko.

Fans riot, and demand their tickets back. Judges call it a draw, and leave the arena.

2 of the most boring fighters together in the ring. EEEEEWWWWWW.

Martinez's defense has never been anywhere near good enough to withstand Hopkins's counter right hands. Hopkins's excellent timing and anticipation would have been too much for Sergio (his reflexes aren't in the same league as RJJ's). Even Chavez Jr had a 40% success rate with his slow jab..
