  • Comments Thread For: Gomez: Erik Morales Will Get Up For Marquez Challenge

Eric Gomez, head matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, expects an exciting fight when Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5, 38KOs) and Erik Morales (51-6, 35KOs) do battle for the WBC's 140-pound "Diamond Belt" on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After being away for nearly three years, Morales returned to boxing last March with a decision win over Jose Alfaro, and then followed it up with a TKO of Willie Limond in September, and a twelve round decision over Francisco Lorenzo in December.

Eric Morales is not a zombie, mummy or frankenstein.. He can't just get up after for all intents and purposes having been dead for several years.

He might get up but it it still seems unlikely that he will give a good fight. He hasn't been on the elite level for a while now

Morales will always be better than Pee breath. At least hes won some big fights. Marquez has literally lost every big fight hes been in.

Regardless of who wins one thing is for certain, these two warriors will give us an exciting fight. Not like the crap that we got from the Bradley fight.
