Am I the only one who would like to see some UFC and MMA guys come to boxing and genuinely do well at it? I'd love to have more dedicated athletes at their prime compete in the sport I enjoy. The more people in boxing who are talented (it's clear many in the UFC are physical freaks) and have dedication (you don't become great in any sport without it) the better it is for boxing.

Second off what you are proposing is nonsense anyway.

MMA fighters are well rounded and don't train for just one aspect, which is punching.

Couture would be limited to only a small part of what he has trained for his whole life.

That limitation doesn't effect a boxer in the octagon, a boxer can do what he does best and there are no rules against it.

Some people here act like the sky is falling because an old, fat James Toney lost in a sport he's never competed in against a legend, a guy who has 30+ years of wrestling experience. Obviously, if Couture fought in a boxing match against a legend of the sport he'd get demolished, I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it.

It's not like he ever did what Lights Out did (obviously it was just for an easy payday) and run around saying he could dominate in a sport he's never tried for more than a few weeks at 40+ years old. Couture has nothing to prove to boxers or boxing fans.

Let it go, it was just a circus sideshow for easy money.

What's talent and skill without conditioning?, Randy will come in like a $100 bucks, Toney will weight about 250lbs and further embarrass the sport.

Fair enough that Toney will be a pin point shooter, but he had no bounce in the octagon like Randy who is much older.

Someone competent would give Randy a beating, just don't pin your hopes on Toney.
