In 4 fights since leaving HBO, Stevenson has fought on Showtime vs. Fonfara, Showtime vs. Sukhotsky, CBS (Showtime's parent organization) vs. Bika, and Spike vs. Karpency.

Stevenson vs Kovalev is not a mega fight, HBO/Showtime working together will make no money

This makes a lot of sense to me. This fight does no more than 125k in the US and shouldn't even be a PPV if you want to be real.

They are all in for a rude awakening with Kovalev vs Ward. Neither if those guys can sell so how the hell is that a PPV fight? No way that event makes money.

The PPV system is a dying model. You get better action fights on the smaller weekly cards than you do on these overhyped PPV busts.

Pac/Barrera and Floyd/Corrales were way better fights than these and those were HBO matchups. Nowadays those fights would need marination and PPV to even happen.

do u not get that they can prmote on showtime/hbo/and pbc if htey work together..do u not get that they can split the bills and no one has to foot a huge loss..either hbo takes a small win if they work together..or hbo take a huge loss all alone and they cant give the fighters the promised money..

FFS how stupid are you Stevenson nut huggers.

They say Duva's #'s are inflated for live gate and PPV they they turn around request for joint promotion which means two broadcast team and double the production cost.

Will bringing in showtime really improve the PPV#'s that much.

Stevenson should just come up with a # that he wants and be done with it.
Their team has been sitting around waiting for offers turning it down with out a solid #. They just want to do this joint promotion that was only justified for mega fights.

Stevensons team is basically saying this fight is not that big?

Moreover, someone who insists on bringing Showtime into the equation is knowingly killing the deal. Kovalev has 3 belts and has done waaay more than Stevenson in the last two years. Even 50/50 is a stretch.

Oh well, make the Fonfara rematch so we can watch Stevenson KOd by someone else...

Chickensen should only get 35 % because he only has 1 belt. Leanel nothing. Everybody who's anybody knows who the REAL light heavy wieght champion is.

Bottom line is Americans aren't going to spend money on boxing PPVs anymore, it isn't going to happen. Floyd-Pac was boxing's last hurrah, it was such a dud that people will be turned off for years. Plus people just don't have the money to spend on PPV's like that anymore......economy sucks and people are scared to spend any extra cash.

So split it up any way you want, this fight won't sell on PPV. Take a pay cut or get some independent financiers.
