very few, if any boxers are ever at a point in their careers where they are fighting purely for "legacy"


somehwere in the business somebody is profiting off of you
if oyu want to fight for you legacy they will exploit you for all you are worth

this is a business. you have to act in your best business interest and protect yourself.

they fight for money, put the fights on for money, match you for money, etc
if you go in there thinking legacy somebody is going to use you up and spit you out

they dont give a damn about your legacy.



once in a blue moon a fighter will reach the top and be sound enough financially to take fights for his legacy, but generally they are rare.

ALI wouldn't be called the greatest if he was Ducking and Dodging like Floyd.

Handicapping 2 divisions apart is stupid if you want to let the fans feel it was a fair fight it should have been at least half way. Not 2 divisions up, too much of a disadvantage for jmm. You can see in that fight marquez punches were just bouncing like as if there was a brick wall in front of him lol Plus Floyd had to cheat the weighing scale to gain more advantage lol

I cannot credit Floyd for that, marquez jumped to 2 division in a short amount of time. His body wasn't ready for the jump. Building mass takes time. He wasn't ready. He was dumb to accept it though, I'll tell you that much, but yes his punches were pitty patty compared to Floyd that night.

He was a lightweight fighting a welterweight that night, it's so obvious watching it.

I think that last answer to Costas about how Ali shouldn't have taken the fights people were asking for is very revealing.

Floyd wakes up every day and looks at his ******ed trainer and his even more ******ed father and knows if he isn't careful with his career that this will be his future. He can make a ton of cash without having to risk his mental health like his family did.

lol made me laugh but that seems to really be in Floyd's mind.

Floyd should retire if that is the case.
