  • Why greed is a good thing in a free market

What do greedy people need to do to make allot of money in a capitalist society? They need to figure out what products consumers want and offer it to them cheaper and at a higher quality than its competitors. That process benefits everyone.

Greed however is a bad thing in a socialist society with big government. Because how do people make allot of money in a socialist society? They need to figure out how to get political influence so they can transfer taxpayers money into their own pocket. That process doesnt benefit society.

Its really that simple. Capitalism benefits the whole society. Socialism and big government benefit the very rich who are politically connected.

So by your way of thinking...

Capitalists maintain the well being for the whole of society.

Socialists and big government maintain capitalists stranglehold on political appointee's who benefit more capitalists?

Are you saying that the rich get richer, and the poor are up shit creek with out a paddle?

    Lesson learned for the day.

I believe the well being of a society depends on the individual. A good man influences his family, his family influences the community, and so on.

The more educated enlightened individuals there are, the better off the world will be. Nobody benefits when those in power treat the people like sheep. That's not what we are.

You say greed is a good thing, but the World has never been lacking in greed and it never will be. What we lack is compassion and understanding.

My point is, you will never have to worry about the world lacking Greed. We have an over-abundance of it.

"Greed" is not "good" or "bad" -- greed is inherent in the "human nature".

Well im not worried about the world lacking greed. Im worried about politicians having too much power. Because then their greed and the greed of their buddies will ruin society

Just look at North Korea and Cuba. The leaders of those countries are filthy rich while their people are suffering
