You would think Floyd knockout percentage would be higher at 147

Merchant says this at 7:18 of video

The reason for Floyd's high connect percentage in previous fights were because it went the distance. If the fight progressed, the percentage would only get higher. As Ortiz would be breaking down, Floyd would connect more and the percentage would rise.

Floyd has always had brittle hands and never one punch KO power to begin with.. at least not at the elite level. Whenever he KO'd someone it was usually do to accumulation of clean punches. he wasn't able to carry whatever KO power he had left to welterweight. bigger guys are harder to knock out.

And this is NOT fighting the best in the division. Imagine Floyd with a true WW like Cotto or Marg.... or Pacquiao!! When you look at the facts you can understand why Floyd doesn't want to accept the Pacquiao fight.

He said that but he was wrong, at welterweight Floyd has fought

            Sharmba Mitchell (Ko)
            Ricky Hatton (Ko)
            Shane Mosley
            Zab Judah
            and Carlos Baldomir

How is 2 out of five 17 percent?

Now you can add Victor Ortiz (Ko)

Which brings him up to 50% a higher KO ratio than Pac.

IMHO KO percentages are not really reflective of the punching power, head to head as their are other factors to be covered...

@ piye, Floyd do not have higher percentage than PAC at WW actually if your numbers are correct they have both 50% ...

                Pac-Dela Hoya (KO)
                Pac-Cotto (KO)
                Pac-Clottey (W)
                Pac-Shane (W)

                    10% of 70 is 7
30 out of 70 would be above 40%

                    7 x 4 = 28 = 40%+

If there are other opponents a case could be made but i cba working it out tbh.
