Serious question. In America fruit comes from a lot of the warmer states but Britain obviously isn't warm enough to do that.

And of course the none fruits like wheat, barley, potatoes, livestock etc etc all thrive here too.
We have oil in the north sea and other places and good coastline for the wind turbine farms for renewable energy.
So we're pretty self sufficient if you look at it that way. Imports just mean that we can enjoy certain fruits all year round.

You don't know about our industrial history son, we revolutionized the world. But we import probably 99% of our stuff now even though it would be cheaper to produce it ourselves.
But that's the EU for you.
