  • Comments Thread For: Ricky Burns: After Vazquez, I Want Adrien Broner!

Ricky Burns plans to silence the critics who claim he is avoiding a fight with Adrien Broner by beating the outspoken American once he has taken care of IBF world lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez.

Frank Warren has confirmed that Burns' fight against Mexico's Vazquez will headline his 'Rule Britannia' show at Wembley Arena on March 16.

Should Scotland's WBO champion come through the tough fight against Vazquez, who is ranked second at 135 pounds, he hopes to then overcome unbeaten WBA champion Broner.

Broner accused Burns of ducking a fight with him at super featherweight when the Scot moved up a weight category in 2011.

The American then offered to fight Burns at two days' notice last month when two of the 29-year-old's opponents pulled out of a lightweight bout at the ExCeL Arena in London, but he again turned down the opportunity.

Hopefully, the problem is in years to come people would forget that Burns was the one that said he wasn't ready yet, they would accuse Broner of doing the ducking even those he was on record saying he wasn't ready, Just like How people try to forget that Hatton said he wasn't ready yet for Mayweather and that when he is ready he would take Mayweather on.

If he happens to get by Vazquez he'll then ask for 600,000 pounds tax free in order to fight Broner.

          Burns is trash

Typical European Fighter Class C.. Broner destroys him in 2 Rounds

With Titere 'Money' Vazquez.. really ugly fight

Vazquez by 6points Easy or Burns by robbery

And righfully so, He can sell tickets while Broner hasnt shown he can sellout an arena.

Sorry but not everything has to be in america. The fight over in scotland can make much more money!

burns should be applauded for taking on vasquez, this won't be an easy fight for both guys

vasquez doesnt let his hands go very often and i'm pretty sure this fight will be very close...in which case burns will probably get the decision and be criticized for it

its funny because people are already foreseeing a robbery

i'd like to see burns face broner in the states because he often doesn't get the credit he deserves and win or lose his stock could only increase...especially if broner is able to stir things up at 140 afterwards
