Interested in feedback on what energy drinks, foods, supplements anyone here uses / does not use for energy pre-training, during training and for sparring & fights.

I usually make sure I have good carbs (weetabix, oatmeal, brown bread, etc.), and some natural sugar (fruit), combined with a something like sugar free red bull, can of low cal FRS or small coffee (if needed) about 2 hrs / 90 mins before training, long run, sparring day, etc. I've also just tried Clif's 'shot blocks' 20-30 mins before a session too, they're pretty good.

Any others suggestions, tips re: energy drinks or whatever?

If anyone could suggest a good "day of fight" food & drink plan from AM - fight time, that would be good too. Thx.

A simple 200mg caffeine tablet is a cheap way.

There are plenty of "preworkout" supplements out there... but 99% of them are geared towards body builders/weight lifters.

Be careful though, most of them are highly stimmed out, like 300mg caffeine + loads of other stimulants. Those will make your heart rate skyrocket during the kind of training boxers go through, which is mostly cardio. That can be dangerous.

A good vitamin B complex supplement would be good, and safe compared to stimulants.
