    I don't know about #1 for Gilbert...

    I'd go

    1. Frank Edgar
    2. Gilbert Melendez
    3. Gray Maynard
    4. Shinya Aoki
    5. Eddie Alvarez
    6. Tatsuya Kawajiri
    7. Jim Miller
    8. Kenny Florian
    9. Anthony Pettis
    10. Benson Henderson

IMO Pettis, Aoki, Florian, Kawajiri, and Henderson are a loss away from being out of the top ten... I'd say Guida, Guillard, Sherk, Thomson, and Siver are hovering around the top ten and are a win or so away from superseding some of the guys in there now

Damn, I don't think a top ten at LW gets better than mine.

I can see Gilbert at #1 18-2 with both losses avenged...

I agree with this top 10. I can see why Bas may rate Gilbert at #1. Aoki is hand's down the best win on his record for the timeframe he had accomplished it. However, Kawajiri and Ishida are just Gomi's leftovers and Thomson while tough as nails isnt a top LW. I'm hoping he takes on Alvarez (surefire FOTY) and then makes his way to the UFC cos there's plenty of good fights to be had.

Argument can definitely be made. I had to wrestle with it too.

I don't like how high Aoki is on that list though...

I thought the EXACT same thing. But the freaking guy has some really high quality wins.

I agree with ALMOST everything on his list. Just a few rearrangements...

                  1. Gilbert Melendez
                  2. Frankie Edgar
                  3. Eddie Alvarez
                  4. Gray Maynard
                  5. Shinya Aoki
                  6. Kenny Florian
                  7. Tatsuya Kawajiri
                  8. Anthony Pettis
                  9. Ben Henderson
                  10. Jim Miller

I agree. Also at second looks, fallenloki & Bas have it wrong with Kawajiri, he shouldn't even be in the top 10, he's in the same boat as Guida, Guillard, Sherk, Thomson, and Siver IMO.

Last win worth anything was over Alvarez 3 years ago. Hansen and JZ are the only decent wins outside of that, and both those guys havent made any noise for sometime. He's top 10, but no higher than 5 for me.
