You have to compare players to their own era, it's the only way to do it. Russell was a great player for his time.

Bill's not overrated if you look at him in the right context.He was primarily a defensive genius who was arguably the greatest player in the game.He had no offensive skills( but would've probably averaged around twenty points per game based on his athleticism alone), but he knew what he had to do to win.He definitely wasn't as skilled as Wilt Chamberlain, but he had a better sense of what to do within the team than Wilt did.
