Can't believe the ref took a point in round 5. That's horrendous. Obvious corruption.
But it was ok not to take the point after hitting after the bell right?.

    • Kalle Sauerland says they like Denis Boytsov but have no intentions of signing him because of his legal issues with Universum.

Instead of fighting Kubrat Pulev, Tomasz Adamek may fight the winner of Banks-Mitchell II.

      • Kalle Sauerland is angry at the WBA for declaring a 75-25 purse split, but glad the WBA has mandated the contract for a Klitschko-Povetkin fight between now an July 31 must be signed by Feb 28.

Wladimir will likely have a voluntary defense on April 6 to satisy his TV contract with RTL, and then fight Povetkin in July.

Klitschko's management isn't saying, but the article speculates that they may include undefeated up-and-comers Francesco Pianeta, Andrzej Wawrzyk and Luis Ortiz.

The author guesses it may be the Cuban Luis Ortiz (19-0, age 33), since he is WBA #2 and has no promotional issues. Ortiz is a big man at 6'4" and has a strong amateur background. But Ortiz is relatively unknown in Europe, so it's not the best business decision.

Hopefully we'll know more by the end of this week.

I can't understand why Fury isn't being considered (or maybe he is). Of the names you mentioned he's the most high profiled, and arguably deserving, opponent. Several weeks he (Fury) said that he would be winning to face Wlad.

                  • Wawrzyk is injured like always. Ortiz is good but unknown. Fury has a fight against USS pretty much done.

What Fury says isnt realy relevant.

Tyson Fury was offered the April 6th fight.

Fury was willing to do it, but his promoter Henessey and his trainer Peter Fury turned it down when it was offered by K-2.

                      Same situation with Bryant Jennings.

Bryant was willing to take the fight, but his promoter said "not yet".

Last year Denis Boytsov was offered the November fight ahead of Wach, but although Boytsov was willing, his promoter Klutch said "no".
