Heavyweight Andrae Carthon stopped Helamob Olguin in the third round of a scheduled four round bout. Both fighters spent the first two rounds swinging for the fences, trying to land lead or counter hooks and crosses. Carthon (7-10-2, 2 KOs) landed more, even though he was just as tired as Olguin by the start of the third round. In that round, Carthon landed a barrage of punches midway through the third, dropping Olguin (1-2, 1 KO) to one knee. Olguin got up, but was exhausted, backing away from Carthon. Another barrage of punches dropped Olguin again to one knee, prompting referee Raul Caiz, Jr. to stop the bout at 2:54.
