I hate joe cortez. I think he's trash.
But I think he listened to the complaints about him breaking to soon. It seemed to me just about any time floyd and ortiz were close and sort of clinching, he allowed enough time for them to fight out of the clinch, which they did several times. The moments he did break them up, they seemed to be at the proper times. Victor headbutted a few times and he gave him warnings, before taking a point. Text book stuff.
Of course being Joe Cortez and on his way of reffing one of the best fights in a long time, he sort blew the end there by not making it 100% clear to everyone the fight was on. lol
With that said, I was PISSED when I saw Kenny Bayless on the undercard. You're telling me Bayless was available and they don't have him for the main event? smh
