He turned down 17 million dollars for two fights this year. Now he's now going to fight once this year for probably $2.5M and likely sit out most of 2015 . That's not being a smart businessman. And I'm going to laugh when he loses against whatever journeyman he fights next and whatever Haymon offer he had goes down the drain.

no he wanted to be paid right. that's what he said. apparently getting 7million to fight ggg isn't getting paid right though.

arum-"im taking a risk with the GGG fight financially...so why take that risk without any futures"

a one fight future? what if chavez gets destroyed? then what are you gonna do with him in the next fight? yet somehow arum was willing to pay top dollar to chavez if he signed for another fight? but the GGG fight was a financial risk but not if he signed for another fight? even if he beat GGG hed still prob be taking an easier fight after that

arum either trying to force chavez hand or make chavez look bad because he knows chavez wants out of TR....

chavez one of the few draws bob has left...prob the only other one...

Yet the guys who want to prove their greatness and fight these cats for peanuts (Kovalev, Golovkin) are the ones who are called the unproven hypejobs waiting to be exposed on here by delusional haters

          Go figure

I had the same feeling. Chavez had no intentions of stepping in the ring with GGG on the other side.

Thats what I found was funny, He basically saying Chavez isnt a world class fighter but Chavez left his ass handicap lol and chavez not fighting GGG can be chalked up to contract disagreement with toprank but with Martinez we know he is clearly ducking GGG, So i guess Martinez isnt on that world class either huh? since they fought Martinez actually lost his fight against murray.

TR was trying to protect him, but he's a fighter he wants to take em all on. Martinez is sounding a little icky here. I dunno. But Martinez himself may never fight GGG, and he is older and does not have to.

But Chavez aint scared of GGG bro. I actually earned respect for Chavez for how he dealt with the contract, and being a smart businessman. Unlike Bradley who signed an extension knowing that TR needed him to fight Pacman with or without it.

Pac had no one else to fight except Bradley. Bradley didnt have to sign the extension and he could have still could have demanded a high purse due to the fact that TR has no big name credible ww's for Pac.

He could have fought Pac, got out of his contract, went to Golden Boy and fought this stacked division. Now he will pad his empty ww resume with Rios, Pac 3 & 4, JMM 2,3, & 5, Mike Alvarado etc.

Bradley is the most unproven ww today. Will never fight any of the young guys at gb between 140 and 154. Dumb businessman.
LOL are you his accoutant? How do you know TR didn't give him a really good offer than he wouldn't have got from golden boy? Tim said himself he might retire with Top Rank. Seems fine with his pay. Its not like Tim is a draw. Other than a Mayweather fight, there isn't that much to be made there. His purses would have been smaller with Golden Boy. Why? HBO can pay more since they are the bigger network and has more viewers. Any purse he gets from SHO/GBP will likely have to be split between the co or triple main eventers because GBP doesn't have lots of dates and SHO can only spend so much on boxing. Which is why they stack their cards.

If we are just talking strictly business, since you called him a dumb businessman, staying with TR is the better business move. He is not making the money he made in the Pacman fight, anywhere else. Same with Chavez. The only other promotion that is worth a damn and actually promote fights and fatten fighters pockets, is Golden Boy. And we know he isn't going to Golden Boy. Where else can he go where he will be properly promoted to maximize his earnings? 50 Cent going to do that for him? TMT? LOL

It sounds like Martinez is projecting his insecurities upon Chavez because he's never gonna fight Triple G.
