Your uncle Haymon took all of the top GBP fighters utilizing Schaefer's services before he left, and you're complaining why TR and GBP never made big fights together?

I wouldn't exactly call this a tournament. And its only arguably gonna end up a tournament if the right guys win. This "tournament" goes as far as the Charlo's & Lara losing allows it to go.

Seems like it was about a month ago last we heard Slick Ricky was going to be making some sort of move.

All these PBC fight no one wants to see. Even Lara and the Charlos twins only got 400K viewers together. Vargas vs Salido almost made 1 Mil viewers because most fans knew it was going to be competitive.
Mayweather-Pacquiao was delayed due to politic nonsense (I'd say it was due to Arum being *****, but that's another conversation).

Alvarez-Golovkin is a conversation onto it's own (Alvarez wanting the fight at 155/154, while Golovkin insists on the fight being at 160, moves the time window for that time when Alvarez can no longer get down to 155).

Vargas-Salido almost made 900k viewers because HBO is available in over 36m homes (comparatively, Showtime is available in 28m homes, or 30% fewer homes than HBO); to try and argue that "most fans" knew it was going to be competitive (when the high-water mark for HBO viewership in over 2 homes), is sill and you played yourself.

Like someone said, this will not become some Al+Arum love affair, but it will lead to some crossover fights which is still good.
The only place where Top Rank has any kind of leverage is at 130 (Lomachenko if he beats Martinez, Walters, and possibly Verdejo); notice that that's the only place where Arum seems willing to look.

If Martinez beats Lomachenko, adding to Pedraza being with Haymon, and Walters looking for a way out, any talk of working together dies, just like the "Top Rank and Golden Boy working together" talks died.

People forget that GBP and Top Rank did have negotiations for Canelo-Cotto in late 2014, but Cotto eventually signed with Roc Nation, ending the Cotto/TR relationship.
There were fights that were jointly promoted by TR and GBP.

Sadam Ali vs Vargas, which was a mandatory for WBO vacant title.
Matthysse vs Provodnikov (Banner, primary promoter)
Matthysse vs Postol (Elite Boxing, primary promoter)

Take note that Matthysse was a new GBP recruit when he faced Provo and Postol.

To be fair Matthysse vs Crawford should have been made. Both have exclusive contracts with GBP and TR respectively. But who are we kidding? Arum and Crawford is a father and son relationship. The father protecting his son and the son won't be taking big fights unless it's PPV.

Haymons empire is crumbling now all of a sudden hes willing to wor with arum.

He did the same thing the first time Mayweather retied.

                Without Floyd he is nothing.

I was not talking about leverage. I was talking about making fights. Bradley carries a good name that would make some good fights vs PBC opponents. Russell claims he wants a rematch with Loma so that becomes a possibility also.

Of the top fighters at 154, Showtime has things currently positioned that most of those guys, if certain fights go certain ways, will have the chance to fight each other.

Charlo-JRock, Charlo-Hatley, and Lara-Andrade are all lined up to be competitive fights. BoxRec isn't perfect but, according to their list, Haymon has access to 9 of the top 10 fighters at 154 (with Liam Smith, via BoxNation, being a possible option if the money can be brought forward).

Outside of Canelo Alvarez, how many fighter at 154 would Showtime (due to political limits) be unable to bring over? Even after the three fights mentioned, assuming that Lara/Charlos win, you still have Michel Soro, Jorge Cota and the newer guys (Terrel Williams, Joseph Elegele, Erickson Lubin, Pritchard Colon had he not gotten hurt, etc)

Bob Arum is the only one talking about being "willing to work"; you don't hear anything from Todd DuBoef, Carl Morretti, Sam Watson, or anyone else beside Bob Arum.
