https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meldonium#Doping
All the athletes who have failed drug tests for Meldonium.
The list includes 8 Ukrainians, 32 Russians, a Swede, a Norwegian, a Bulgarian, two Romanians, a Slovakian, 2 Lithuanians, a Belarusian, 2 Georgians, and an Ethiopian.
The most failed tests were in wrestling and athletics (10 each).
This is obviously quite significant for Russian and former Eastern block athletes.
Sergei Kharitonov was suppose to fight yesterday in Bellator 154, and pulled out at the last minute due to "undisclosed illness". He was training with Povetkin ahead of their fights (he's in all the Povetkin weight lifting photos). Gotta think that Kharitonov was dirty two, and that's why he pulled out.

Oh this is funny. So, somehow in your fairyland world, anyone smart enough to realize the drug hasn't even been tested fully for longevity in the system, and realize it was just a trace amount anyway... SOMEHOW they need their bu tt kicked. Wow, the density from your end is deep today there friend. Get mad the fight is off. Fine. Going full blown wacko is just ridiculous. Take a chill pill and relax. Geez
^^^^^^ This. Wilder Corporation is celebrating big time right now. All-night party... make that all-week party.
Exactly

What you naysayers refuse to accept is that this is new territory. The manufacturer themselves said they don't yet know how long trace amounts will stay in the system, nor do they know exactly how it effects all users. You can argue til the cows come home. Won't change anything.
WE aren't the ones 'making up our minds'. Again, the manufacturer says they cannot yet make a statement with any certainty as to WHEN trace elements fully leave the body of the user. And Povetkin's last test definitely falls into the 'trace elements found' category. IMO, until they can define the full life of the drug in the body, the rules should not be zero tolerance.

Bottom line: The drug needs more research, and Wilder dodged a bullet. And he knows that well. I guarantee he sleeps much better tonight than he has in months.

Nobody should criticise Wilder for this, that's crazy.
I've criticised him in the past for his bumb squad opponents and the easy ride he had to a world title. But he was ready and willing to fight a dangerous mandatory opponent, away from home.
Respect for that and commiserations for the time and money this has cost him are all he should be getting here.
