  • Comments Thread For: Erik Morales on Garcia KO Loss: It Had To End That Way!

During his 19-year career, former four division champion Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs)competed at the highest level. Last Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Morales suffered a knockout in four rounds to the younger WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia. Morales admits that it took him a moment or two to regain his senses after going down from Garcia's left hook. Just days after the fight, the Tijuana boxer informed us that he has nothing to be ashamed of and his career was a great experience.

That's right champ, whatever it takes to get you to realize its over. One last fight in TJ shouldn't hurt, then ride off in the sunset. You brought us some of the greatest fights and for that I say thank you.

Good for him. Wouldn't mind seeing him beat a journeyman down for 10 rounds for him to get that feeling one more time.

It must suck to go out on a KO loss...Now if only more boxers could follow suit...

hopefully these were the correct words from morales becaue that guy that translates on showtime is awful,he never says anything correctly and that is bad because thats not what the fighter is saying and fans then think he says that or meant this and it just wasn't what the fighter said and felt, when the translator (remember his name now, felix de jesus) was telling jim gray what morales was saying i just though man thats not what he said, and he does it in every interview,to me the translator that really says word for word is the one on hbo, jerry olaya

Good to hear him knowing the end is right there.

If he wants to go out pounding on some irrelevant boxer in Mexico, so be it. Let him go out his way, he's earned that right.

Just please, for the love of god, don't feed him to another young champ or prospect.
