  • What happened to "matchmaking"?

So many of these PBC fight have been a snooze fest.

I can honestly say I'm more than a casual boxing fan but not an expert or anything. I get pretty busy and can't watch them all, and I'm not sure Id ever seen Mares or Santa Cruz fight.

Having said that, what I saw on Saturday night was two guys more interested in volume punching, rather than landing anything meaningful, and two guys that wanted to steal rounds at the end.

Wouldn't a better match be between a power puncher and a volume puncher (Paul Williams / Margarito) or a boxer vs a volume puncher?

It went to hell when Haymon became the manager of almost every top 20 boxer in the world.

Promoters match-make, managers pick and choose.

When a manager is the de facto promoter the lines get blurred and the fans end up with fights they either never wanted or fights they originally wanted but years too late.
