  • Has anyone read Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde?

Wanted to hear some thoughts about the book and if you liked it. Anyone read it?

I read it in 5th or 6th grade.. Not sure if it was a watered down version or the real edition.

It was fairly long from what I remember, or at least kinda dragging.. Had a lot of filler between notable events..

            Pretty much yeah.

Old literature is strange in what it considers "children's books".

I was doing a bit of background research while reading The Count of Monte Cristo to understand the period a bit better. Napoleon and the French Revolution etc. And the phrase "children's book" kept cropping up.

I was like, eh? This is a 1,200 odd page novel encompassing some pretty adult themes and emotions.

First half of the book was really good but the second part... I don't know what happened. It was like a completely different book.
