  • Why do HBO Show devon alexander over The klitscko brothers?

The k bros were dropped by HBO, even thugh they draw 60 000 plus in germany and 14 million viewing figures.

Plus they have never had agift decisions, yet HBO dropped them for Devon.

A guy thats not even won hius last 3 fights.

Yet another example of america racism towards europe.

Poll coming....why do you think this is the case???

HBO shot themselves in the foot. They thought Devon was something that he clearly isnt and have ended up payingh through the nose for it.

When alexander fought bradley they both signed to a 2 fight deal so that even the loser of that fight was guaranteed a 7 figure sum with a fight on hbo so they were stuck with that ****. But dont agree with tham not showing klitschkos as imagine they were american the coverage thay would get would be unreal!

did the klitschkos get 14 million viewers in the usa? no. they got terrible ratings, their fights drained the hbo budget and they were hard to do because they were overseas. and it was hard for them to gain an american following because their fights were extremely boring. use some common sense before spewing out racism. it's all about money and televising all their fights didn't make sense financially because they were getting some of the worst ratings ever. why keep televising something if you aren't getting anything in return?

now if they fight someone with a big name like haye then it makes more sense to televise them because americans might want to watch. remember hbo is an american company so they cater to an american audience. the german ARD channel only shows german fighters so are they racist? no it's because that's who their audience wants to watch. obviously if you are a diehard boxing fan you want to see almost all of the fights but unfortunately a lot of people who watch boxing only want to see guys they are familiar with. more people will watch berto vs a bum than klitschko vs a bum. boxing is a very nationalistic sport. look at a lot of the posters on here. look at yourself.

if you have a show that gets no ratings then you get cancelled no matter how good that show is. if devon alexander keeps getting gift decisions but he gets good ratings then they will continue to show him. it sucks but that's the way it works. or you can just be a simpleton and say they are racist. whatever.

the point is, Klitschko's should work with american companies to broadcast their fights. They should just work with NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, ESPN, showtime, VS, HBO, or even like cartoon network to broadcast their damn fights... Putting it on free tv is definitely a good option, not much money in there but more fans.

Cuz HBO doesn't know **** about boxing.

Real boxing fans would rather watch the Klitchko's spar than watch Alexander grunt his way to a decision victory that he didn't earn.

HBO only showed Alexander because of the matchup and as part of a triple header. He wouldn't get the airtime by himself. HBO held off on the Klitschko's because of the limited opposition they have to fight. If there were solid challengers besides Haye, HBO would show them alot more.
